Adoption Process

Thank you for your interest in our puppies.

-The first step is to complete the puppy interest form.  On this form we ask questions to help us understand what you are looking for and better assist you when we contact you back.  The interest form is no obligation to purchase a puppy.  It is important we answer all your questions about Bernedoodles and our program, along with getting to know you, prior to a deposit being made.

-If you're interested in joining our reservation list, we will email you paperwork to review and sign.  A $250 nonrefundable reservation fee is taken at the time of your puppy contract being returned.  Your payment will place you on our puppy list in order of payments received.  Puppy selection will go down the list from top to bottom. We understand sometimes it isn't the best time to have a puppy join your family or we do not have exactly what you are looking for and you would prefer to wait for the next litter.

-Once puppies are born, and you would like to choose from that litter, the remaining $250 of the nonrefundable reservation fee is due.  Puppy selection will be around 5 weeks when personalities are starting to be seen.  Puppy selection will be between 4 and 6 weeks.  If the litter of puppies is very diverse in color and gender and clients are specific to what they want, we will sometimes do puppy selections earlier.

-Final balance is due at 8 weeks of age for pick-up and 7 weeks of age for delivery via flight nanny.  For families who are purchasing multiple puppies at once half of the balance is due at puppy selection or 4 weeks of age and is non-refundable once the payment is made.

-Puppies will be vet checked, microchip, dewormed and be up to date on vaccines.  They will also come with a puppy pack of goodies.  We may consider offering breeding rights on select puppies to approved breeding programs for an additional fee.

FAQ's

How does a flight nanny work?

A flight nanny is someone who meets us at our nearest airport, normally San Diego, and personally flies the puppy, in cabin, to your nearest airport.  There is no additional cost from us to drive the puppy to the airport. A flight nanny is the only way we allow our puppies to be delivered.  We will not ship our puppies in cargo or hire ground transportation that transports multiple dogs.  Puppies are not fully vaccinated until 2 weeks after their last shot at 16 weeks.  Therefore, it is very important to control what they are exposed too.

Who secures the flight nanny and covers the delivery cost?

The cost and reservations of the flight nanny is the responsibility of the buyer.  We have a reputable flight nanny we have personally used and referred.  We will provide buyers with her information.  On occasion the breeder may be able to fly a puppy to a customer for an additional fee.  The buyer is also welcome to fly out and pick up their puppy.

Why is the balance due at 7 weeks of age when being delivery by a flight nanny?

The final balance for the puppy traveling via flight nanny is due when the puppy is 7 weeks of age to ensure all funds clear and there are no unforeseen issues.   We do this to ensure your puppy is ready to be delivered to the flight nanny when you scheduled.  Payment is not able to be taken at time of delivery from the flight nanny because she is not employed by us, nor does she have a way to transfer the payment.  We will offer references, facetime, send multiple videos and any other reasonable request for the customer to feel comfortable.  We are aware of the scams going around right now and understand customer's need for caution.

What form of payment is accepted?

We take Zelle, Venmo, Cash, Cashier's check.  If a customer is unable to use any of these forms of payment other options can be discussed.
